DEPARTMENT
The Fire Department is comprised of:
Fire Chief (full time)
1 Fire/Medic (full time)
3 part time Firefighters - Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm
20 Volunteer Firefighters
The Department is also fully staffed with 4 personnel from Friday 6:00
p.m. through Sunday 6:00 p.m. during First Monday Weekends
This Department provides Fire, Rescue, and First Responder services.
This is accomplished using the Department's twelve pieces of equipment.
Canton's Fire Department is proud to be involved in the community and
serves in several ways:
Fire Inspections
Fire Prevention programs for area churches, schools, companies, organizations'
and nursing homes.
Fire Extinguisher Classes
Check Smoke Detectors / Alarms
Check Carbon Monoxide Protectors
Provide annual Fire Academy
The Fire Department has an I.S.O. rating of a Class 4.
Meetings:
1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month
7:00 p.m.
Fire Station located on Highway 19.
In 2005 the Department responded to approximately 900 calls.
A test of the Emergency Sirens is conducted on the last Monday of each
month at 1 p.m.
